day.

smiles to and from strangers.

dancing in the parking lot.

macbeth rap sessions.

lying under the gum-tree and making jimmy hoffa jokes.

spontaneous beach trip.

seagulls and salt air and warm sand.

amazing friends and high speed car chases. 

being told that i'm worth it,

that i'm beautiful and i deserve the best.

being forbidden to settle for less than my heart's content

or anything that breaks it.

finding wisdom in the old, and a little of the new.

big decisions

& i'm finally making them

for me.

finally blocking out all the little voices,

and holding tight to the people who get me through the day.

gritting my teeth

and stepping back.

or at least i'll try.

and if i feel differently in the morning,

well at least i had this

tonight.
